We Are The People Of The Cross

This week ISIS released a video showing the demonic murder ,by beheading, of 21 Coptic Christians in Libya (as well and the death by burning of a Muslim Jordanian Pilot). They called the Christians the people of the cross.

“Then Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came up to show Him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down.” Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.  All these are the beginning of sorrows.“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.  But he who endures to the end shall be saved.  And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” ~ Matthew 24:1-14

The historic norm for Christians is persecution in the culture and times they live in just as these brothers in the Christ experienced. We Christians in the USA have experienced an unheard of 400 plus years of freedom and peace. That is starting to come to an end as our culture becomes more secular and humanist in its paradigm and actively opposes the moral and ethical standards God has decreed in this word. We need to stop whining about it and begin to prepare ourselves for the increasingly difficult days to come. We must become people of the book. We MUST read, study, know and live out God’s word in the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Bible has much to teach us about prayer. It is one of the most important and often the most neglected weapons that the Lord has given us in our arsenal as we struggle against sin, self and Satan, who the bible calls the “god” of this age. Our prayers can reach all the way to heaven and the farthest points of the earth for those hurting . We can pray for the needs of others and against the plans of Gods enemies. God uses the prayers of his people to accomplish his will in the earth. Please pray for all our brothers and sisters in Christ whose lives are in danger because they follow Jesus. We may live long enough to experience the same persecution in our Land unless God send us a revival that people are praying for each day.

May the Lord defend his people. May he destroy the works of Satan as he seeks to kill, steal and destroy the lives and testimony of God’s people. May we his people be filled with is power and might and boldly live out our Christian faith even unto death ,if needs be, in a world lost to sin and in darkness separated from Gods love, mercy, truth, grace and goodness in Christ Jesus.

I Have Decided to Follow Jesus | S. Sundar Sing

have decided to follow Jesus;
I have decided to follow Jesus;
I have decided to follow Jesus;
No turning back, no turning back.
Though I may wonder, I still will follow;
Though I may wonder, I still will follow;
Though I may wonder, I still will follow;
No turning back, no turning back.
The world behind me, the cross before me;
The world behind me, the cross before me;
The world behind me, the cross before me;
No turning back, no turning back.
Though none go with me, still I will follow;
Though none go with me, still I will follow;
Though none go with me, still I will follow;
No turning back, no turning back.
Will you decide now to follow Jesus?
Will you decide now to follow Jesus?
Will you decide now to follow Jesus?
No turning back, no turning back.

In Jesus mighty name. Amen
